Along with Canada Day activities at the Community Centre and a parade to the War Memorial, a Canada Day tradition in L'Anse Au Clair is a bonfire on the beach with music and fireworks.

August 4-5- Mary's Harbour Crab Festival, Mary's Harbour
The Crab Festival is the annual celebration of the crab fishery. There are lots of fun and prizes to be won for people of all ages. Entertainment provided throughout the course of the weekend. Canteen services are provided with beverages and BBQs. Dances for both young and old. Crowning of the crab king and queen.

August 19 - International Lighthouse Day, Point Amour Lighthouse Provincial Historic Site

In recognition of International Lighthouse Day, the Point Amour Lighthouse Provincial Historic Site will be hosting a day of fun events including a scavenger hunt, craft activities and lighthouse themed competitions. Refreshments will be served.

We are also looking for an amateur radio operator/s to set up a radio station at the lighthouse and connect with other lighthouses.

Activities begin at 2:00 pm and continue until 5:00pm

August 8 - Commemorating the wreck of the HMS Raleigh

Join us in Point Amour, August 8, as we commemorate the wreck of the British warship, HMS Raleigh in 1922. There will be a tour to the wreck site starting from the Lighthouse at 2:00pm followed by viewing of local "Raleigh relics", stories, a visit from "Gilles Dumas and Kessie", and off course, tea
