Travel by Road
Labrador Coastal Drive is now accessible year round. It is accessible in the south via the Strait of Belle Isle ferry that operates from St. Barbe, Newfoundland to Blanc Sablon, Quebec and by the Relais Nordic Ferry Service which operates from Sept Isles, Quebec to Blanc Sablon, April to January.

And in the north Labrador Coastal Drive is from Central Canada and the Maritimes via Route 389 from Baie Comeau, Quebec to connect to Route 500 in Labrador City. Route 500 travels from Labrador City to Happy Valley-Goose Bay. And Route 510 from there will bring you here.
 
In the South from Newfoundland
Marine Atlantic operates a ferry service between North Sydney, Nova Scotia and Port Aux Basques, Newfoundland. After arrival in Port Aux Basques drive north on the Trans-Canada Highway to Deer Lake and take Route 430, the Viking Trail to St. Barbe. Labrador Marine Inc operates the Strait of Belle Isle ferry service, between St. Barbe, NL and Blanc Sablon, PQ.
 
From Quebec
Relais Nordik operates a passenger cargo service along the Lower North Shore of Quebec from Sept Isles, Natashquan, Havre Saint-Pierre and Rimouski, on Route 138 to Blanc Sablon. The passenger-cargo ship, the N/M Bella Desgagnes,has a large, windowed observatory, cabin space for up to 60 people, a dining room and a cafeteria. As the ship stops in each port to unload supplies you have opportunity to visit the villages and historic attractions. The length of the trip to Blanc Sablon depends on where you board. Although it is not a conventional "ferry", vehicles are be transported. The trip from Rimouski is approximately 3 days and 2 days from Havre-Saint-Pierre. Blanc Sablon is just 2 km from the Quebec/Labrador border where you meet with Route 510.
 
In the North
Western Labrador is accessible by following Route 389 from Baie Comeau, Quebec to Labrador City. This is a combination paved/gravel road that is open year round. It is an estimated 8 1/2 hour drive. For updated information on road conditions, contact the Quebec Ministry of Transport at (418) 589-2065/5610. You can also travel to western Labrador by a passenger and auto rail service that operates from Sept Isles, Quebec. Contact the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway at (709) 944-8205/2490 for detailed information.

From western Labrador, Route 500 of the Trans Labrador Highway is 526 km to Goose Bay. Route 510 connects to the coast.
